Koo Koo Design Inc. designs, produces, and distributes fun and unique embroidered towels, loungewear, and baby apparel accessories. As the original creator of soft goods with the signature stick figure and personality designs, its cute and sometimes racy aesthetic is what charms the novelty-hungry. As well, Koo Koo’s Classic Line appeals to the sophisticated eye. Regardless of taste, Koo Koo stands behind originality, function, and quality with all its products; pride rests in knowing that its products bring a smile to everyone who is lucky enough to receive them.
Stephen Senini, the mind behind Koo Koo, was a children’s clothing designer and houseware buyer before starting the company in 1997 in Vancouver, BC. For the first month and a half, Senini worked out of his apartment; the company’s rapid growth has since evolved into a team which runs the office and warehouse.
Senini personally attends various tradeshows to establish friendly relationships with large scale retailers such as Williams-Sonoma, Bloomingdales, Target Direct and Indigo/Chapters Stores Canada wide as well as small boutiques that bring in their own distinctiveness when carrying Koo Koo products. Custom jobs for companies such as The W Hotels have also been part of Senini’s mandate to meet each client’s needs. The Koo Koo staff also shares this belief of being fun and personable when relating to their various roles in the company.
Koo Koo’s name itself stems from an appreciation of the humorous, the positive, and the (slightly) offbeat. As Senini puts it, “The whole world is cuckoo; Koo Koo is the most natural name for a company that creates something as common as a bathroom towel.” This familiar quality is what makes us identify with its products as we all eagerly agree that we’re all a little Koo Koo.
